Anthony George Mercer, 77, passed away April 19, 2015 at North Care Hospice, He was born on March 24, 1938 to Anthony Mercer and Mary Populaski Mercer in Kansas City, Ks. He attended Washington High School and worked for Jack Frost donuts in his youth. He served his country in the US Navy Reserves. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April, 24, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 38th. and State Ave. Kansas City, Ks. In liew of flowers memorial donations may be made to North Care Hospice. He married Theresa Tucker in 1960. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, KS where they raised their five Children. On March 4, 2000 he was united in marriage to Geraldine (Fisher) Sheffer. They lived near Edgerton, Mo. Where they made their home. Tony worked for General Motors for over 39 years and was a member of the UAW local #31. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Deanna Marie Warren. Survivors include: wife, Jerry, of the home; children, Deb Bensing and husband Rick, Mike Mercer and wife Tina, Mark Mercer and Kathy Garst, Matthew Mercer and wife Mandy; step children, Debbie Garza and husband Joe, Randy Sheffer and wife Janet, Ben Sheffer and wife Jodi, Becky Sheffer and Rob Sheffer and wife Tracy; twenty five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A reception in Tony's honor will follow graveside services at Cascone's Italian Restaurant, 3733 N.
