With her mother & siblings she moves to Athensville Twp, Greene Co, IL about 1853. She meets widow Joshua Hopper & they marry & join Joshua's infant daughter Melvina. His first wife, Mary Johns of Macoupin Co, IL.
Henrietta & Joshua's first known child was Jasper Joseph Hopper born May 1858 in Athensville Twp, Greene Co, IL.
When Joshua & Henrietta moved to Mercer Co, MO, they joined his brother Theophilus & her sister, Mary Barrow Hopper.
Isaac Guymon Hopper was born about 16 October 1863. Joshua died during skirmish of the Civil War, probably in Mercer County. After the Civil War, John Laws moved with his first wife Rebecca Hembree & their son Samuel Creel Laws, to be his sisters & brothers. John met Henrietta Barrow Hopper, with her step daughter Melvina & her two boys: Jasper & Isaac Hopper. They married about 1866-7 possibly in Mercer Co, MO.
Henrietta & John Laws join: "Your's & Mine" & then become "Ours" with the birth of Alzada 'Ada' Sadie in June 1868 & William Madison Laws 28 April 1870, in near Mincy, Taney Co, MO. They were members of the Mincy Valley Baptist Church of Christ.
After John's death, Henrietta moves near Alpena Pass, Boone Co, AR to be near her daughter Ada Laws Woodard & sons Joseph Jasper Hopper & William Madison Laws.
