Hubert was born on March 7, 1922 in Warren Co., Illinois, a son of Ralph E. and Grace (McIntyre) Brown. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and served overseas. Hubert married Nancy E. Fausett on November 27, 1947 in New Boston. Nancy passed away February 15, 2010. Hubert worked for the Rock Island School District as a Custodian at Denkmann Elementary School for 29 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved watching sports.

Left to cherish his memory are brothers in law, Jerry Fausett of Aledo, Rodney Fausett of Mt. Dora, FL and many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Hubert was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; parents; sisters, Mildred Slaby, Marjorie Lewis, Veryl Johnston, June Christian, Bonnie Saunders, Margaret Merkle, Izora Callahan; and brothers, Gerald, Willard, Delmar and Dale Brown.
