Comanche - BOYD E. HAYES, 94, of Comanche, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, in Meridian Nursing Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church in Comanche with the Rev. Mike McCord officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Mr. Hayes was born on Aug. 15, 1911 in Temple to Robert Lee and Delia Woolsey Hayes. He graduated from Temple High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Irene Bowles on Jan. 9, 1941 in Elgin. Irene preceded him in death on March 23, 1989. He retired from the oil field as a pumper.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Hayes and his wife Dilynn of Comanche, and Jimmy R. Hayes and his wife Georgia of Crosby, Texas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lynn Hayes; five brothers, Floyd, Lee, Keller, Luther and Homer; and two sisters, Jewell and Ruth.
