ABOUT THE CEMETERY
Samantha and Edward are buried on a family plot in
the Indian Creek Valley, now known as Sun Valley Addition,
Pennsylvania Avenue, St. Albans, Kanawha County, WV.
GPS Coordinates: 38.365546, -81.835482.
This very tiny family plot has long been overtaken by
woodland, and is accessible only by foot or off-road vehicle.
It consists of three markers, including that of Edward and
Samantha, as well as Allen and Manervia (sic) White and
Mabel White who died at the age of 22.
At one time there were one or two other small aluminum
markers and a native stone, but these have long since
disintigrated or been lost.
The cemetery is not easy to reach. It lies on the northern
tip of a mountain ridge lying due west of Sunny Brook Drive
in the Sun Valley subdivision - in fact, almost straight west of
the intersection of Sunnybrook Drive and Sun Valley Drive.
Once the haul road is accessed, the ascent is (currently) clear,
although trees fall from time to time.
The originial homestead is long gone. Remnants and old
foundations have been uncovered in places nearby the grave-
site, but these would be very difficult to find without a guide.
