Minnie was the daughter of Julius Trieloff and Wilhelmine "Minnie" Yeager (Jaeger). At about the age of 5 years old, Minnie and her family migrated from Constantine in St. Joseph County to Mason County, Michigan where the family established permanent settlement. Her parents and their 3 month old son immigrated from Berlin, German in 1871. Julius was a noted bandleader and conductor.

On 12 Dec 1891 Minnie married William John Landon in Ludington, Mason County, MI. William was the son of son of David F. Landon and Anna Compton.

William and Minnie established a homestead in Branch, Mason County where William also owned and operated a saw mill on Landon Road (near the saw mill of his brother, Charles Henry Landon). They became the parents of 10 daughters; their births spanning 17 years from the eldest to the youngest.

After the birth of their youngest daughter, Minnie became ill. Exhausting all their financial resources for medical treatment, William and Minnie traversed to Chicago's Presbyterian Hospital where Minnie spent the last three weeks of her life. She passed away at the age of 38, just four years after the birth of her youngest daughter. Cause of death was Asthenia (weakness) due to Abdominal Tumor.
