Edna Altherr Dead at 81

MONTICELLO-Mrs. Edna Altherr, 81, of 722 Beachview Dr., Monticello, died at 8 p.m. Monday at White County Memorial Hospital. Death followed an illness of two years.

Born. Jan. 27, 1896, in Fredericktown, Mo., she was the daughter of Richard and Margaret Lee. She was married April ll, 1923, to Alfred Altherr, who survives.

She came to the Monticello area in 1952 from Lafayette where she was a member of the Brown Street United Methodist Church.

Surviving with the husband are two sons, William and Gordon, both of Monticello, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Skinner, Stockwell.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Ross officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends-may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
