Killed at RAF Hooton Park (Now the site of the Vauxhall Car factory) while flying in Avro 504 B8604 which collided with Avro 504 D7562 flown by 2Lt V J Flynn. Capt Pearson was aged 21. Lt William Smith MacFarlance also killed.

He was the elder brother of May Pearson (Later - Norton)who later wrote both 'The Borrowers' and 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks' both of which were made into films by Disney.
