He leaves his wife of 33 years, 7 children, sister, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.
Born in Quitman, MS, the son of Sam and Anna (McDaniel) Ivy, he was a lifelong resident of Semmes. In his early years, Mr. Ivy worked in the grocery business and later in the automotive service industry. He spent many years farming and loved growing a garden. He was an avid softball player and waterskiier. He and his wife traveled all over the US in their RV and enjoyed camping. He was a master woodworker and loved gospel singing. Mr. Ivy was very active at Pathway Church, volunteering in many capacities to serve others. He served on the First Impressions Team at church. He had a great sense of humor and a personality that drew people to him. He was loved by many.
Visitation April 23, 2015 at Pathway Church from 11:00am to 1:00pm, Funeral Service at 1:00pm with graveside service immediately following at Valhalla Cemetery. Arrangements by Valhalla Funeral Home.
