Peggy Lee Stanley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 12, 2015. She was born an identical twin on March 3, 1929 in Detroit, MI, and raised in Oklahoma.
Peggy met and married Eugene David Coffee and they had one daughter, Peggy Jean. Upon her husband’s death in 1960, they relocated to Southern California to be closer to her twin, Patsy Ruth.
Peggy worked as an LVN for several years. She was very active in her church, ministering at homeless shelters and missions. She has a beautiful singing voice and shared her gift in her ministries.
She met and married Andrew J. Stanley. Upon his death, Peggy moved again to Fallbrook, CA to once again be near her sister. She became very active in the Sonrise Christian Fellowship, the Presbyterian church in Fallbrook.
Peggy was preceded in death by her sister Patsy Ruth and brother-in-law William Filo, and grandson Michael Cocores. She is survived by her daughter Peggy (Peter) Cocores, grandchildren John Cocores and Heather Thomas, great-grandchildren Christopher, Taylor, and Ryan Cocores, Sierra, Aaron, and Rachel Thomas, great-great-granddaughter Scarlett August Johnson, niece Debby(Steve) Smith, great- niece Stephanie(Garrett) Ball, great-nephew Stephen Smith, and step-niece Christine Teague.
The family wants to thank the great support staff of Elizabeth Hospice, and her wonderful friends, neighbors, and church family for their kind and loving help and support during this time.
Peggy will long be remembered as “the Amen Lady” at the Sonrise Christian Fellowship.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, from 4-8 pm at Berry-Bell and Hall Fallbrook Mortuary, 333 N. Vine St., Fallbrook. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 26, at 9:30 am at the Sonrise Christian Fellowship, 463 South Stagecoach Ln., Fallbrook. Burial will follow at the Riverside National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
