Lillie Leona Dyer, daughter of
Isaac and Barbara Ellen Briles Dyer, was
born August 31, 1891, near Barnes, Kans.,
and died March 12, 1981, at Belleville, at
the age of 89 years, six months and 11 days.
She received her grade school
education in Washington County. She
graduated from Belleville High School in
1911. She taught in county schools until
December of 1914.
She was married on December 25,
1914, to Will C. Pracht at her parents home
in Belleville.
They left B e l l e v i l l e for Arriba,
Colorado where they farmed for eight
years. She and her family returned to
Belleville where she ran a millinery store
for a few years. In 1929 they moved to a
farm south of Belleville where they farmed
until retiring in 1973 and moving to
town.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Will, of
Belleville; two children: Delmar Eugene
Pracht and Verna Elaine Pracht Willis,
both of Belleville; four grandchildren:
Willis C. Pracht, Garden City, Leslie E.
Pracht, Belleville, Barbare E. Willis,
Salina, John D. Willis, Topeka; a greatgrandson:
Zachary John Willis, Topeka;
one sister: Mrs. Earl (Ethel) Hawkins,
Kanarodo, Kans.
Funeral services were held March 15
from Tibbetts Bros. Chapel, Belleville,
with Rev. Larry Dutton officiating. Burial
was in Belleville Cemetery.
