Pauline Evelyn Steeples, 88, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Bonaparte, died at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Born in Mount Sterling, she was the daughter of James Earl and Mary Lurena Totten Troutman. On Sept. 17, 1939, she married Howard Steeples in Kahoka, Mo. He died Feb. 19, 1981.

Mrs. Steeples retired from Steeples Hog Market and Troutman Auction. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Orlando, Fla., and a member of Farmington United Methodist Church for more than 50 years before moving to Florida.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Steeples of Des Moines, and Tamara Rankin of Orlando, one son, James H. Steeples of Middleburg, Fla., three granddaughters; one grandson; one step-granddaughter; one step-grandson, and two sisters, Wanda Adams of Burlington, and Mary Davis of St. Michael, Minn.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

The funeral was held at Farmington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Rekward officiating.
