Joshua Reymond Wilkinson departed these earthly shores on March 28, 2015. His lovable character and exuberant energy will always be with us. Joshua loved with all his heart family, animals, Star Wars, and country, serving 7 years in the Navy (the Persian Gulf on the USS Tarawa and the Atlantic on the USS George W Bush, leaving the Navy as an E4). He had a talent for computers and not only the ability to think out of the box, but to make you think outside the box, too. How many can say that their favorite book of the Bible is Ezekiel? It was Josh's.

Joshua was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 20, 1985 and welcomed by his parents, Caryl Brock Wilkinson and Reymond Neal Wilkinson, and brother Kyle. A few minutes later, his twin sister, Jessica, joined the family. Only God could have found Josh's perfect match, Iris Teecee Wilkinson, whom he married on Halloween Day in 2012. These two free spirits were a match made in heaven.

Awaiting his arrival on God's heavenly shore is his mother, Caryl Wilkinson, and his paternal grandfather, Reymond Wallace Wilkinson, and also, his maternal grandparents, John and Julie Brock. Since Joshua was such a unique soul, we suspect his dog, Duke, is waiting there, too.

Those remaining to cherish our memories of Joshua are his wife, Iris Teecee Wilkinson, his father, R. Neal Wilkinson, his paternal grandmother, "Teetee" Betty Joe Pecora Wilkinson, his second mother, Donna Wilson Mayeux Wilkinson, his mother-in-law, Teresa Gurganus, uncle and aunt, "Brother" and Pat Pecora, and a special aunt, Willie Mae Holt. The loss of a brother is deeply felt by Kyle Joseph Wilkinson and his wife, Wendi Marie Lawrence Wilkinson, Jessica Leigh Wilkinson, Jon Phillippe Mayeux, Daniel Wilson Mayeux and his wife, Faith Nicole Hornsby Mayeux, and Janina Mayeux and her husband, Pedro Oliveira, and by his brother-in-law, Kirk Gurganus. Uncle Josh will always be adored by Adyn Joseph, Harper Marie, and Kylie Scout Wilkinson, and by Nicholas Phillippe, Isabella Leigh, Anna Maryelle, Finleigh Rose and Zane Alexander Mayeux.

There will always be stories to share with his paternal aunt and uncle, Lynn and John Noland, and his cousins, Matthew Noland, Jonathan Noland, and Sarah Noland Lowrance, and their families and with his maternal aunt and uncle Julie and Richard Hanley, and his cousins, Richard Hanley, Kimberly Hallett, and Katie Dunlap. Joshua was loved and welcomed into his extended family by Donna Wilkinson's mother, Janet Wilson, and her sister's family, Jana and Len Bordelon and cousins, Bryn Bordelon, Kayla Theriot, and Kelli Arnold.

Visitation in the Fellowship Hall of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church at 10915 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815. The funeral will follow with internment at Louisiana National Cemetery at 303 W Mount Pleasant Road, Zachary, Louisiana 70791.

On reflection, due to Josh's love of all animals, including the mouse he tried to save from a glue trap, in lieu of flowers, a donation to an animal shelter would be appreciated. Or even better, adopt a pet.
