LOWELL - A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. June 3 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery for Carl "Bill" Jodie Hampton of Lowell, who died May 15 in an auto accident at age 74.
He was born Oct. 30, 1931, in Murphy, N.C., to Kenneth and Bobbie Ledford Hampton. Hampton served in the Army. He was employed as a pipe fitter through Local 250 out of Los Angeles California.
Survivors include two sons, Larry of Springfield and Robert of Dexter; a daughter, Lisa of Dexter; three brothers, Kenneth of Hammond, La., Boyd of Conyars, Ga., Walter of Cypress, CA., ; a sister, Pauline Ernst of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Major Family Funeral Home, Springfield.
