Jennifer "Jenjo" Massey, a Cascade Locks, Ore., resident, died Dec. 24, 2003, in The Dalles, Ore. She was 46 years of age.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Stevenson, Wash.
Jennifer Massey was born Oct. 4, 1957, in LaGrange, Ind., the youngest child of James and Virginia (Koperski) Massey.
Jennifer graduated from Cascade Locks High School and then attended Mt. Hood Community College and Portland State University. An intelligent and avid student of art, history, architecture and design, where she used her talent in creating and sewing costumes for the plays and ballets she and her mother attended.
Her passions were clothing design, Van Gogh and Monet paintings and poetry.
She also enjoyed painting in both oils and water colors, and had won many awards at local fairs. Jennifer gardened herbs and numerous flowers as roses, petunias, pansies, bleeding hearts and star gazer lilies. She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed surprising her mother on her birthday with specialties like Baked Alaska, hot rolls and rye bread. Jennifer taught art to children for the Parks and Recreation department in Cascade Locks and also at the Hood River Children's Art Program.
She is survived by her mother, Virginia Koperski, her father, James Massey, brothers Douglas and Brett Massey, sisters Jeannine and Lorraine Massey and Cynthia terHorst; two aunts Patricia McNutt and Betty Becker. Four nieces, three nephews and four cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother Kirk John Massey Nov. 8, 2003.
Memorial contributions may be made to her mother, Virginia Koperski, to help defray expenses, c/o Anderson's Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont, Hood River, OR 97031.
