DIED.
On last Friday, Sept. 7, at his residence 6 ½ miles north-west of town, Thomas L. Black died of acute inflammation of the kidneys, in the 76th year of his age.
Father Black was one of the early settlers in this part of Oklahoma, having taken a homestead as soon as the country was opened in 1892, and had a wide acquaintance. He was born in Ohio and united with the Methodist church when but a small boy, and has been a faithful member of the Springdale class since coming to Oklahoma. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn their loss. The funeral services were held at the home by his pastor, Rev. H.E. Inman, and the body, followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends, was laid to rest in the Black cemetery.
