He was a farm and landowner for many years before his retirement and moved to Tennessee one year ago to be near his family. He was a member of the Church of the Brethern and was a lifelong resident of Holt County before moving to Tennessee.
Edwin was married June 29, 1040, to the former Helen Jane Hinkle, who survives of the home.
Edwin enjoyed hunting and nature as long as health permitted.
In addition to his wife, Edwin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul K. Prather, Sr. (Nadene), of Somerville, Tenn, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Eric E. Prather.
Funeral services were held on March 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pettijohn and Crawford Family Funeral Services Chapel in Somerville, Tenn.
Interment was in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City, Mo.
