Claire E. Bartekoske, 93, died at Lake Andes Health Care Center in Lake Andes on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
Claire E. Bartekoske was born on June 24, 1921 to Henry and Lula (Bowen) Wepking on a farm near Geddes, SD. She attended country school in Charles Mix County near Geddes and high school at Platte High School. She married Lewis in August of 1941. Together they farmed near Geddes. Claire moved into Geddes after Lewis died on April 1, 1979. She was an active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Geddes where she taught catechism for many years. She was also a member of the Red Hatters. She moved into Lake Andes Healthcare Center in Lake Andes on March 27, 2005 where she died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Bartekoske of Fort Pierre, SD and Dennis (Carol) Bartekoske of Waterloo, IA, sister, Helen Dufek of Huron, SD, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Fred and Leo.
