Laurene J. Gunterman, 88, of Bremen, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Bremen Health Care Center. She was born June 1, 1923 in Plymouth to James & Marie (Tarrant) Gilbert. She was married to Anthony Gunterman, who preceded her in death in 1975. Laurene was a lifelong area resident. She was a member St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Bremen, Plymouth Moose Ladies Aux., and previous member of the Rosary Sadality. Laurene was a natural, loving caregiver to both her family and those in need. Survivors include daughter Linda S.Verhaeghe of Plymouth, son Tony (Pam) Gunterman of Bremen, 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, twin sister Lauretta Berger of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister Helen and 4 brothers: Dick, Don, Bob & Ed Gilbert, and son-in-law Leon Verhaeghe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Bremen and will be officiated by Father Bob Lengerich. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4- 8PM on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. A rosary service will begin at 4 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church, Bremen or to the Center for Hospice.
