Lodi Boy, 5, Loses Fight For Life
Little Dana Wayne Shelton, Lodi youngster who suffered serious burns last March 31, passed away suddenly last night at San Francisco's Letterman Army Hospital. Dana, five-year-old son of Mrs. Doris Shelton, who resided at 530 S. School st. until recently, had been playing with matches while his mother was on a shopping trip when his clothes caught fire.
Upon Dana's arrival at Community Hospital doctors said he had suffered first and second degree burns over most of his body and third degree burns on his chest. He was transferred to Letterman Hospital, where he had been undergoing skin grafts and other treatment since.

Funeral services will be held in the First Christian Church Monday for five year old Dana Wayne Shelton, who passed away Thursday night in the Army's Letterman General Hospital, from extensive burs received last March 31, when his clothing caught on fire.
Dana, who would have celebrated his sixth birthday on Oct. 15, was the son of Air Force Sgt. and Mrs. L.B. Shelton, both of whom returned to Lodi yesterday. He was the brother of Larry, 9, and Tonya, 6.
He was the grandson of Mrs. Rosie Greiner, Bridgetonn, N.Y. and Noah Shelton, Shady Point, Okla. He also leaves two aunts, Mrs. Mary L. Wyatt, Lodi, and Mrs. Laverne Durbin, Tacoma, Wash.
