MELANIE D. COLLINS, 35, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Methodist South at 10:35 p.m. She was a graduate of Westwood High School and University of Memphis. She was a former first grade teacher at Fairley Elementary School where she shaped young minds and had a positive impact on many students and administrators. She is survived by her husband, Demetrius Collins and her stepdaughter Kaylah Collins; parents, Andrew D. and Helen Bruce; sister, Constance Bruce; brothers, Andrew T. Bruce (Michelle) and Bryan K. Bruce; nephews and niece, Bakari J. Bruce, Azana Bruce and Andrew T. Bruce, Jr. and a host of other family and friends. Service will be 12 Noon, Saturday, March 1 at New Fellowship Christian Church, 5453 Stateline Rd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
