A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he served our country from 1960-1964. His ship was active during the Cuban Crisis. In recognition of his service, his son, Todd, had presented him with a National Defense Medal and Naval Unit Commendation. A Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8445, he served the VFW by being active in their Honor Guard. He retired from General Dynamics Tank Plant and also the Uniopolis Volunteer Fire Department. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends, and saw it fit to pass those passions on to his sons. However, his true love was his family, and he enjoyed every moment with his grandchildren.
Services will be at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Josh Andrews officiating and interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Uniopolis.
