Kathy Jensen, 50, of Alcester died Feb. 4 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Feb. 7 at Alcester Baptist Church with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Alcester.
Kathy K. Jensen was born Nov. 6,1954 in Hawarden the daughter of Lee and Arlene (Voegeli) Waag. She attended elementary in Alcester and graduated from Beresford High School in 1973. She married Curtis Jensen on Sept. 27,1974. The couple lived in rural Beresford, where Kathy operated a daycare in her home. She later moved to Alcester and has been a cook at her mother's cafe for the last 13 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Hilary and Hannah Jensen of Sioux Falls, Jessica Waterman of Hawarden and Jenna Jensen of Beresford; two granddaughters; mother, Arlene Jensen of Alcester; father, Lee Waag of Hawarden; three sisters, Becky Zeutenhorst of Alcester, Nancy Feuerherm of Lake Elmo, Minn., and Patti Bickett of Beresford; two brothers, David Waag of Watertown, S. D., and Danny Waag of Whitefish, Mont.; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
