Services for Grace Van Wyk, 80, were held April 24, 1997, at
the Peoria Christian Reformed Church with the Reverend Ronald Bouwkamp officiating. Grace Van Wyk died on April 21 at the Pella Regional Health Center.

Music for the service was provided by organist Marge Fynaardt.

Casket bearers were Junior DeJong, Verlan Van Wyk, Dennis
Van Wyk, Jerry Veenstra, BernieVeenstra, and Larry Vander Molen.

Interment was in Peoria Cemetery in Peoria.

Grace Veenstra Van Wyk, the daughter of John L. and Carrie
Vander Molen Veenstra was born December 12, 1916 near Taintor,Iowa. She was a lifetime resident of the area.

She graduated from the 8th grade at the Peoria Christian Grade School. Following graduation she worked out in homes in the area.

On September 19, 1940 she married John H. Van Wyk and the
couple had one daughter. Grace was a homemaker and a member of the Peoria Chnsuan Reformed Church, as well as a member of the Persis Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her husband, John, of New Sharon; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Carrol Bandstra of New Sharon; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Lambert Veenstra and his wife, Cornelia, of New Sharon; and a sister, Jeanetta and her husband, Henry
De Jong of Pella.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and a brother, Ben Veenstra.

Memorials may be designated for The Bible League
(Bibles for Burma).

Garden Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
