He was born Feb. 22, 1925, in Dunkirk, the son of Henry DiLorenzo and Winifred Pietro.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the air offensive in Europe and Western Europe as a tail gunner and sergeant. He had been employed by Al Tech Specialty in Dunkirk as a hot roll inspector.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by a son, Nicholas DiLorenzo of Dunkirk; nine daughters: Kathleen Quick of Hilton, N.Y., Penny Pilarski of Silver Creek, Amy DiPietro of Forestville, Toni Rae DiLorenzo of Camdon, N.Y., April Hill, Cynthia Bielat, Robin Winder, Jeanenne Gizowski and Tracy Briggs, all of Dunkirk; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry DiLorenzo of Dunkirk; and a sister, Rose Bradley of Dunkirk.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Jeanenne Gadewoltz DiLorenzo, who died in 1996.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Gardinier-Colletti Memorial Home, 43 W. 4th St., Dunkirk where a veterans service will be held. Burial will be in Willowbrook Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the memorial home.
