Raymond Jerome Gilbert, age 83, of Edina, MO passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO.
He was born in Knox County on November 6, 1938, the son of Gerald Jerome and Evelyn W. Heimer Gilbert.
Raymond received his education in Knox County, MO. He was engaged in farming most of his life west of Edina. He was also employed for close to fifty-years with Knox County Stone as a loader. Raymond raised cattle, loved horses and had been a member of the Pioneer Rangers Saddle Club. He was a member of the Edina United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one sister Sharon Lynn (Ron) Eichelberger of Alpine, AZ, one brother John Lee (Michelle) Gilbert of Knox City, MO, nieces and nephews Shelly Lynn (Carl) Hargis, Amanda (Shane) Barrick, Heather (Jeremy) Lohmeyer, Rayden (Michelle) Gilbert, Dana Owens, Brandon (Amber) Eichelberger, Kendra (Jason) Welchert, several great-nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Zelda Gilbert of Eldon, MO.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Gerald Denver Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Graig Connell will officiate the services. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Hurdland, MO.
Musical selections will be Old Rugged Cross and Rock of Ages.
Casket bearers will be Jeremy Lohmeyer, Shane Barrick, John McCarty, Chris McCarty, Bill Tom Hall and Dickie Bowen. Honorary bearers will be Ray Montague, Gene McCarty and Larry Walker.
