Edna Pearl Henson, 87, of Galveston, Texas passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2014 in Alvin, Texas. Edna was born September 15, 1927 to Amie and Lillian Mize in Bryan, Texas. She retired from UTMB, after 20 years and was a loyal member of University Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for the Galveston County American Cancer Society and chairwoman of the March of Dimes. Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband Oscar E. Henson; son, Patrick G. Henson; and son-in-law, Ronnie Ratisseau.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ratisseau; sons, Michael “Mike” E. Henson and wife Penny, and Gary Henson; grandchildren, Lynne Quoyeser, Rondi Patten, Michael Henson, Jr., Natalie Henson, and Tyler Henson; and eight great grandchildren.
A graveside service in her honor will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, April 20, 2015, at Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Texas. Arrangements are through Crowder Funeral Home, Dickinson, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, TX 77087-1005.
