AUSTINBURG — James C. Tisdale, age 82, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at the Austinburg Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 7, 1932, in Conneaut, Ohio, he was the son of Harley and Dorothy (Crandall) Tisdale. Jim was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea. On Feb. 19, 1955, he married the former Beverly Jean Giannettini in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Ashtabula.
Jim was the owner operator of Tisdale’s Harley Davidson Sales and Service.
He also enjoyed racing motor cycles on flat tracks. He was a member of the V.F.W. #943, American Legion Post #103, and the East Ashtabula Club.
Survivors include his son, James T. Tisdale of Ashtabula; grandsons, Lester Smith and Theron Simmons Jr.; and sisters, Judy Hakundy of Ashtabula, Lois Powell of Ashtabula, Joy Brindley of Florida, and Susan Knighton of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parent; wife, Beverly Tisdale; daughter, Cathleen Tisdale; and a sister, Betty Ann Zanzig.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 18th at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with Father Ernesto Rodriguez presiding. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Plymouth Township, where Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard Team from Post #103.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 12 p.m., Noon, until 1 p.m. at the Church.
