Anna Rose Andrews passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on April 2, 2015.

Anna brightened every room she entered, filling the air with laughter. She was big-hearted by nature and lived a life of service for others. A nurse by profession, she spent her lifetime care-giving and putting people at ease. She was loving, capable, and sturdy in times of crisis.

Born of Italian immigrants, she found joy in cooking traditional meals and passed on some of her best baking secrets to her children, grandchildren and friends. Known as "Gramma Anna" by so many, she wouldn't rest until all bellies were full.

She was a skilled seamstress, a quilter and in later years she took up tatting. She always enjoyed outfitting the neighborhood children in holiday costumes. Her home in Bellingham was a sanctuary for birds and other creatures who wandered in to the back yard.

Her favorite saint was Saint Francis of Assisi and his admonitions for service to the poor and animals were integral to her belief. It is fitting that she passed during Holy week, a time of personal and deep renewal for her.

Anna was preceded in death by the love of her life, Heber "Andy" Andrews; her brother, Michael Lovergine (Chicago); and her first husband, Donald Kerr, the father of her two children.

She left behind two loving sons, John and Mark Kerr; her brother, Joseph Lovergine; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Stone, her beloved granddaughters, Delaney and Ella; her "sister by choice", Marti LeMaster; and her "other son", Joseph Curtin.

Anna was loved by those who knew her; she had that rare gift of making everyone feel like they were family, her family.

If you would like to honor Anna's memory, you may make a donation to the Hope House (a Catholic Community Services NW charity), another organization that helps the needy, or simply perform a good deed in her honor. In fact, she would hope everyone does at least one good deed.
