She was born January 10, 1931 in Glasgow, Scotland, daughter of Robert Young Pagan and Thelma Grace Fielding Pagan.
Mrs. Harris was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1948.
On December 7, 1951, she married Ivan Perry Harris in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Mrs. Harris later moved to New Mexico, Arizona, Texas and South Carolina before moving back to Pine Bluff in 1975.
She worked as a secretary for the Arkansas Department of Social Services from 1981 until her retirement in October of 2000. Mrs. Harris moved back to South Carolina in 2001.
Mrs. Harris was a member of Central Presbyterian Church when she lived in Pine Bluff and was currently a member of Fews Chapel United Methodist Church in Greer, South Carolina.
She enjoyed reading, walking, gardening, baking cookies, watching ice skating on TV, and visiting with her daughters and grandchildren.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a daughter, Nancy Curtis.
Survivors include three daughters, Sara Bowman, Linda Brown and Vera Harris of South Carolina; son-in-law, Saint Curtis, of South Carolina; two sisters, Sheila Pagan Horn of Pine Bluff and Joan Pagan West of Plano, Texas; one brother, Robert Y. Pagan, Jr. of Gray, Louisiana; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2015 at Bellwood Cemetery with Reverend Jimmy Herring officiating. Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Robinson’s.
