Anchorage resident Mr. Clarence "Lee" Leland Lafield, 71, died on March 3rd, 2014 at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Services were held at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel on March 7th, 2014, with Rev. Mike Pettijohn officiating. Burial followed at Angelus Memorial Park and Cemetery.

Clarence was born Feb 22nd, 1943 in Sandia, Texas. He graduated from Banquette High School and served in the United States Air Force in radar maintenance from 1961 to 1968. He was stationed in Louisiana, Myako in Okinawa, and Neah Bay, WA and Othello, WA. He was employed as an Electronic Technician at NCR from 1968 to 1973, Owner-cook at Ballard DQ in Seattle from 1973-1978, and a copier repairman for Kodak from 1978 to 1998. He became an Alaskan Resident in 1984 and retired from Kodak in 1998. Clarence was a senior scuba diver and he enjoyed military history and history of aviation, working on cars, and carpentry. He built a cabin on Willow Lake near Copper Center. The family writes: "Family was important to Lee. He loved Lisa and his grand kids and enjoyed spending time with them. Lee and Linda were married and best friends for 48 years. Every Christmas Eve we enjoyed having friends and family over for dinner. The highlight was a lively Christmas auction. Lee loved his pets and was kind to animals. He had a good sense of humor. Lee's nickname was Mr. Fix-it. He lived up to that name. Despite many illnesses and surgeries, Lee had a positive attitude and trusted and believed in the Lord Jesus."

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lafield of Anchorage; daughter, Lisa Lafield, son-in-law Matthew Steele of Anchorage; granddaughters, Kimberly, Carrie, and Jennifer of Anchorage; grandsons, Mike and Jaymz; niece, Cheryl Pederson of Victoria, TX; nephews, Eddie Carr and Frankie Carr of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Herbert Lafield; brother, Gaylon Lafield; sister, Earlene Carr; nephews, Billy Carr and Bobby Lafield.
