Dorothy Pettway Garriques, 90, passed away Monday April 13, 2015, in Richmond, VA. Dorothy was born August 10, 1924 in Chester, VA to Marvin Sr. and Leona Read Pettway. She was a graduate of Chester High School and worked for several years for American Tobacco Company and Garriques Insurance Company, retiring in 1986. Dorothy is survived by a sister, Gail Clark of Richmond; and brother, Michael (Pam) Pettway of Chesterfield; children and grandchildren, Susan (Bill) Robertson of Covington, LA, and their children Robby (Cheryl) Robertson of Mandeville, LA and Ashley (John) Strazzullo of Virginia Beach; David Joseph (Rhonda) Garriques, Jr. of Richmond and their children, Joey, Mary and Jennie; Stephen (Theresa) Garriques of Manakin-Sabot and their children, Stephen of New York, NY and Jennifer of Glen Allen, and Nancy (Ron) Coles of Richmond, their child, Trace and her children, Connor (Layna) Lacy of Chesterfield and Jordan Lacy of Richmond; seven great-grandchildren, Sage, Eden, James, Eve, Luna, Trinity and Lily. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 16 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, VA. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
