Rudolph Colburn, 70, of Morgantown, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1995, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green. He was born in Butler County; was a former Morgantown police chief and Butler County sheriff's deputy; and previously had been a member of the Louisville Police Department for 20 years, retiring as a sergeant. He was a member of Reedyville Masonic Lodge No. 438, Louisville Police Officers Association, Louisville Fraternal Order of Police and the Louisville Police Commanding Officers Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Myrl Lee Colburn; two sons, Larry Wayne Colburn and Michael Roy Colburn; a daughter, Brenda Fay Benson; four grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Dwight, and Hacna Colburn; and three sisters, Leah Phelps, Dona Tarrence and Alma Hoffman.
Burial Thursday, in Hill Haven Memory Gardens, Morgantown.
