MACON - Cornelia Virginia White Baker, 75, passed on Sunday, February 10, 2002, at a local hospital. Services will be held Saturday at 11A.M. at New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. The Rev. Ronald E. Terry will officiate.
Born in Bibb County, she was the daughter of the Late Eddie T. Franklin and Beatrice Franklin. A lifelong resident of Macon, she received her education in Bibb County Public Schools. She was a former Supervisor of Crescent Snow White Laundry and retired employee of 21 years from the Bibb County Board of Education. She was also a former employee of Jones Brothers Eastlawn Memorial Chapel. She was a former member of James Tabernacle Holiness Church. She was a member of New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church where she was President of the Missionary Department and member of The Mother Board. She was a member of the Bibb County Ushers Union, 6th District, Missionary Baptist Convention of GA, Executive Board of the Union Baptist Association and past Coordinator of the 6th District Prayer Breakfast.
Survivors include her children: Eddie (Beatrice) White, Bessie (Gordon) Perkins, Arneita (Jessie) Scott, Joseph (Daphne) White, Brenda (Johnny) Mitchell, Justice Baker, and Doris (Sterling) Crawford, all of Macon, Maude Hollingshed and Leonard Douse, both of Fort Valley, Matthew (Ruth) Brundrige, of Tuscon, AZ, Ronnie (Jackie) White, of Roberta, James Baker and Carlton (Amelia) Bivins, both of Atlanta; thirty grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren.; godchildren: Diane Scott, Willie Byrd, and Faye Butts; close friends: Cecil Johnson, Henrietta Balkcom, Jacquelyn Brooks, Bessie Singleton, Mildred Pittman and a host of nieces and nephews.
he family will receive friends Friday, 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. in Jones Brothers Eastlawn Memorial Chapel.
