James Staples was born April 17, 1954 and departed this life on April 13, 2015 at the age of 60 after a brief illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM Friday , April 17 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be at Choudrant Memorial Cemetery. He was retired from LA Tech as Supervisor of Grounds.
James was a very avid LSU fan and he proudly represented them well.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Loy and Kathleen Staples of Ruston, LA.
He leaves behind his wife Jackie of 41 years and his sons Jason and Jonathan all from Ruston and a special son David Audirsch of Lafayette, LA; sisters Kathy Wedeking and husband Gary of Carrollton, TX and Donna Ambrose and husband Jake of Choudrant, LA; brothers Leon Staples and wife Vicki of Ruston and Harold Staples and wife Debbie of Choudrant; aunt Dolly Crabtree and husband Bud of Bradley, AR, and a very special friend, Dennis Tatum of Ruston. James is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and 1 great great niece and 2 great great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tristen Lay, Jeff Pixley, Dave Audirsch, Derek Parnell, Josh Miller, Jason Smith, Danny Ambrose and Caleb Patton.
