Funeral services for Cory Smith, 34, of Buford, GA will 10 am Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Smith and Rev. Ron Ferrington officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at the church.
Mr. Smith was born September 3, 1980, in Lake Charles to the union of Shelby Don and Joan Dianne Barnett Smith, he passed from this life on April 2, 2015, in Buford, GA.
Mr. Smith attended school in Crossett, AR. In 1998, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving 12 years, during his time in the Navy he, served as an avionics electronics technician petty officer first class. He was recently employed as a laser robotic engineer and travelled frequently. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Crossett, AR. He was a devoted father, enjoyed his family, working and watching movies with his children.
Survivors include his children: Christian Isabel Smith of San Diego, CA; Alexis Jade, Madyson Olivia, and David Ian Smith all of Jacksonville, FL; his parents: Shelby and Dianne Smith of West Monroe; brother, Shelby Dustin Smith and wife Ashley and their son Jackson of West Monroe; a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
