Mrs. F. R. Lillie

Bells tolled in the little stone tower overlooking Eel pond in Woods Hole Wednesday morning during the funeral service for Mrs. Frances Crane Lillie.

High Mass of Requiem was celebrated in St. Joseph's church by the Rev. Bernard H. Unsworth. The Rev. Thomas McDonough, chaplain of Newman club, University of Chicago, sat in the sanctuary during the service. Among Mrs. Lillie's philanthropies was a retreat house for Catholic students at the university.

A committal service followed the High Mass of Requiem. Burial was in Woods Hole cemetery.

(Crane was the daughter of wealthy Chicago businessman Richard T. Crane - from her husband's obituary)
