Earl C. Robbins, 92, of Greensburg went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Mr. Robbins was born on March 6, 1923 in Nashville, Wisconsin, the son of George T. and Olive (Bate) Robbins. He moved to Indiana when he was twelve years old. He graduated from Burney High School in 1940 and was a farmer for most of his life. He was a member of the Westport Wesleyan Church and former member of the Mt. Aerie Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He enjoyed traveling across the United States with his grandsons, along with rock and artifact collecting. He married Marie R. Johnson in Greensburg on June 14, 1941. She preceded him in death on October 16, 2013. Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn (Steve) Shelby of Fishers; his sisters, Eula (Noble) Curtis, Arlene (Marion) Whipple both of Greensburg and Louella (Roger) Sanson of Hewitt, Texas; his brother, Eddie (Estella) Robbins of Lancaster, Ohio; his grandsons, Robert (Annica) Cook of Indianapolis and Richard (Robin) Cook of Greensburg; his great grandchildren, Sarah Marie and Samuel Richard Cook both of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sons, Marvin, Willard, Harold and Larry Robbins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Black officiating. Burial will be at the South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
