EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Kenneth E. “Kenny” George, 83, of Edwardsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 14, at Elkhart (Ind.) General Hospital.

He was born April 11, 1932, in Nappanee, Ind., to the late Wyman and Ailene (Shelton) George.

On Dec. 5, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Ind., he married Wanda E. Hoff. She preceded him in death Oct. 10, 2010, in Edwardsburg.

Surviving are two children, Renae Davis of Knoxville, Tenn., and Brian (Deb) George of Nappanee; five grandchildren, Brandi (Justin) Bailey, Brandi Davis, Heather Fortune, Brandon (Tabitha) Davis and John George; seven great-grandchildren, Braxton and Bradley Bailey, Baylaa and Bayden Duncan, and Gracie, Sawyer and Reagan Davis; a brother, Donnie (Nancy) George of Nappanee; and a sister, Karen (Larry) Meister of Bourbon, Ind.

Kenny was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea from 1952 to 1954 as a tank sergeant. He loved flying model airplanes and was a member of the Sky Knights. He was always smiling and joking and was loved by everyone. Kenny retired from CTS Corp. in Elkhart.

A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family for an hour prior to the service. The U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Elkhart DAV will render military honors.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
