Ranks Thinned to One Lone Member by Death of Oliver Brenizer Which Occurred in Lamoni August 21

The ranks of the boys in blue have lost one more member in the death of Oliver Brenizer, which occurred at his home in Lamoni, Monday, August 21. There remains but one Civil War veteran here, Robert Turner, nearly 98.

Oliver C. Brenizer was born January 16, 1844, in Silver Springs township, Cumberland county, Pa., of Scotch Irish descent. His people were adherents to the Presbyterian church.

Mr. Brenizer served three years as quarter master In the Civil war, and following his discharge came to Iowa, settling in New Buda, Decatur county, in 1867.

He was married in 1868 to Miss Hulda Powell, who died in February, 1899. Mr. Brenizer was at the time of his death 89 years 7 months and 5 days old.

He is survived by his present companion, six sons and one daughter: Oscar, Charles and Clarence of Lamoni; Marion, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Melvin, Kansas City, Mo.; Osa, Leon, Iowa; Mrs. Harry Yost, Olathe, Kan. There remains also one brother, Dr. Theo. Brenizer of Lamoni.

Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon from the Andover church by Rev. J. Vincent Gray, assisted by Elder W. E. Pra11. Burial in Andover cemetery.
