Funeral services for Ruth W. Jacques of Richmond, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father Howard Drabek will officiate the services. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., Highway 59 at FM 2218, in Rosenberg. Deacon Don Ries will conduct a rosary service at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jacques was born April 26, 1914 in Gardena, N.D. to Leopold and Wilhelmina Volker, and she passed away Jan. 18, 2001 in Richmond. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Elmer P. Jacques; her daughter, Gail Smestad; parents, Leopold and Wilhelmina Volker; sisters, Gladys Roth and La Voan Kroeplin; and brothers, Kenneth, Alvin, and Orville Volker.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Barrows and her husband, Robert, of Richmond, and Judith Steineke and her husband, Larry, of Richmond; a son, Duane Jacques and his wife, Nancy, of Kramer, S.D.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; sister, Erna Hopper and Eleanor Marzolf; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Barrows Sr., Larry Steineke, Robert Barrow Jr., Steven Barrows, Gary Barrows, and Christopher Barrows.
