Beloved Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandma & Friend. Passed away April 13, 2015 after her fifth bout of cancer. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 61 years, Andy; parents, Helen (Rolfer) Bowman and Claude Bowman; and sister, Sr. Mary Bowman. Survived by 3 children; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; and many very special nieces and nephews. Joan's work life included religious education, Ecolab and her favorite: 20+ years at the University of St. Thomas School of Divinity. She believed in family, friends and being the consummate hostess. She was a strong, faith-filled woman of great determination. We are thankful to the St. Joseph's Academy Class of 1947; her marriage encounter group of almost 40 years; her special, loyal friends; and Our Lady of Peace Hospice for extraordinary care. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 16 at 11 am at CHURCH OF LUMEN CHRISTI, 2055 Bohland Ave., St. Paul. Gathering of family and friends starting at 10 am until Mass. Memorials preferred to Our Lady of Peace Home, 2076 St. Anthony Ave. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. 651-698-0796
