"The killing Sunday night of Mr. W. A. Allen, was the worst tragedy the county has had for many years. Mr Allen was shot in the chest with a shotgun and then knocked in the head with the barrel of the gun. Jesse Jacks, a son-in-law of Mr. Allen, done the shooting and was captured Sunday night. . . . Mr. Allen was interred in Olive Branch cemetery Tuesday." (from the Heard County News and Banner, April 26, 1912.) . . . . . Will married Josephine Blount on 15 Jan 1885 in Pike Co GA.
