Mr. Johnny Harold Lawson, 79, passed away on April 12, 2015, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. Mr. Johnny was born May 12, 1935, in the McCondy Community of Chickasaw County, the son of the late Johnny E. and Alice Bell Huffman Lawson.

He was an United States Marine. He was a member of the Old Aberdeen Road Church of Christ in West Point. He was an assembly worker at Flexible Flyer in West Point. He was also a security guard at Royal Trucking in West Point. He was an avid and accomplished gardener. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He loved his family. He married Mary Jane Neal on March 18, 1967, in West Point.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. from Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point with Mr. John Bauer officiating and assisted by Reverend Doran Henry. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include His Wife Mary Jane Lawson of West Point; His daughter, Michelle Lawson Portera (Chuck) of West Point; Five Grandchildren: Candice J. Cox (Brad) of West Point, Charles "Lance" Portera (Macy) of Starkville, Rachel Michelle Byrd (Cory) of West Point, Emily Portera Elliott (Josh) of West Point, and Lidia Dawn Portera of West Point; Five Great Grandchildren; Cloe Jane Cox, Kiley Jade Cox, John Brady Cox, Thomas Bradley Gable, and Anna Branson Elliott all of West Point; His Two Sisters, Josephine Wray (Wayne) of West Point and Mary Alice Taylor of Cedar Bluff; and One Brother, Bobby Lloyd Lawson (Deena) of Woodstock, AL.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Portera, Lance Portera, Brad Cox, Cory Byrd, Junior Neal, and Josh Elliott.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Dugan Memorial Home.

Memorials may be made to West Point/Clay County Animal Shelter, 1212 Old Tibbee Road, West Point, MS 39773.

Visitation will be Wednesday 12:00-1:30 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
