Clarence Charles Amptmann passed away on April 11, 2015 at the age of 83. He is the beloved husband of Janice Amptmann nee Roettger of Wentzville, Missouri. He is survived by his two sons: Richard C. Amptmann of Woodridge, IL & Wayne (Linda) Amptmann of St. Charles, MO; two daughters: Nancy (Ken) Dingerson of Foristell, MO & Lisa (Larry) Swagman of O'Fallon, MO; three sisters: Ginny Walterman of Wentzville, MO, Pat Wethington of Wentzville, MO & Peggy Powelson of Moscow Mills, MO; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Urban & Gertrude Amptmann nee Brune and sister, Rosemary Allen. Clarence was married to Janice Roettger on June 30, 1951 at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Flint Hill. He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, the St. Theodore/Flint Hill Knights of Columbus Council, St. Theodore Park Board, Cemetery Committee and the Telephone Pioneers of Missouri. Clarence retired in 1991, after 40 years of dedicated service with Contel/GTE/Verizon. He was an avid mushroom & deer hunter and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He also was a great handyman, and enjoyed gardening & fishing. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
