Gene Lee Morgan, 80, husband of Peggie Parris Morgan, died Monday, April 13, 2015, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Morgan was born April 12, 1935, in Shelby, NC, a son of the late Oscar Lee Morgan and the late Thelma Wright Morgan.
Hew was a member of First Baptist Church and the Lide Williams Sunday School Class and enjoyed playing golf.
He was survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggie Parris Morgan of Georgetown; a daughter, Geanenne Morgan Kelly of Georgetown; a daughter in law, Yvette Floyd Morgan of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Chelsea Morgan of Astoria, NY, Morgan Kelly of Georgetown, Samuel Kelly (Ashelynn) of Wake Forest, NC, and Spencer Morgan of Georgetown; and a sister, Gayla Morgan Rikard (Larry) of Fallston, NC.
He was predeceased by a son, Mitchell Lee Morgan, and a son in law, Terry Lee Kelly.
Funeral services were 1;00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, in First Baptist Church. The Rev. Ted Sherrill officiated.
Burial was 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, in Rose Hill Cemetery in Fallston, NC. Ridgeway Funeral Home of Georgetown was in charge.
