He was born in Winslow, Arizona the son of the late George Romero and the late Dorothy (Johnson) Coddington. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1964. Charles served in the Marines during the Vietnam War reaching the rank of Sergeant and receiving a Purple Heart. He retired in June of 2012 from the Marion General Motors Plant where he worked as a crib attendant, in shipping, and other departments for a total for 44 1/2 years. He was a member of the Fairmount American Legion Post 313 and the Jonesboro American Legion Post 95. He loved being with his family especially his grandchildren and enjoyed woodworking and mowing.
He is survived by his wife: Lana (Winans) Romero. They were married on October 27, 1998.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel, Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN where the family will receive friends from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2015. There will be a Legion Walk thru at 6 PM. Funeral service will also be at Fairmount Chapel at 11 AM, Friday, April 17, 2015, with Chaplain Darrell Smith officiating. Interment and military rites will be immediately following at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN
