Joseph L. Eiring, 90, a resident of Kiel, died Monday morning, April 13, 2015 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. He was born on January 31, 1925 in St. Cloud, son of the late Herman & Margaret (Vogts) Eiring. He attended St. Cloud Catholic School and was a 1942 graduate of New Holstein High School. Joe was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country as a PFC in the European Theater with the 13th Armored Division from 1943-1946. On January 18, 1947 he married Doris Abler at St. Cloud Catholic Church. He was employed at HG Weber in Kiel for 43 years, retiring in 1989. Joe enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as bowling, golfing and watching the Brewers. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Doris, four children; Mary Jo (Michael) Kollross, Gurnee, IL., Kathy Maltsch, Milwaukee, Peter (Sherry) Eiring, Kiel, Paul (JoAnn) Eiring, Brookfield and nine grandchildren; Lindsey (Brian Aucoin) Kollross, Joe Kollross, Nicholas (Lauren) Maltsch, Megan Maltsch, Sarah (Stuart) Brotz, Dustin (Nora) Eiring, Abby (Matt) Bauer and Sam & Katie Eiring. He is further survived by four great grandchildren; Dexter, Ella, Noah & Mason, plus two on the way, one brother, Chuck (Mary) Eiring, four sisters-in-law, Virginia Eiring, Phyllis Ausloos, Donna & Frank Ditter, Verna Eggabeen, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by, one son-in-law, Carl Maltsch, sisters, Vera Goebel, Evelyn Eiring, brothers, Arthur, Raymond, Herman Jr. & Irwin and numerous brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law. The funeral Mass for Joe will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Thursday, April 16, 2015 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 413 Fremont St., Kiel. Burial will take place in the church cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Kiel VFW Post #6707. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
