HOPEWELL - Marvin L. Allen, age 87, passed away at his home in Hopewell, NJ on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. He was the son of the late Elijah A. & Lillian M. Allen, and brother to the late Clarice (Cis) Fenton. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marian, his daughter Linda and his son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Ruth Allen. Also, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marvin served in the US Army/Air Force during World War II and was stationed in Germany. After serving in the military he was employed by Woolsey & Cadwallader Lumber Co. in Pennington, NJ, J. B. Hill & Son, Hopewell, NJ, Eaton Corporation, Flemington, NJ and prior to his retirement drove school bus and worked in maintenance for Hopewell Valley Regional School District, Pennington, NJ. He was a member of Hopewell American Legion Post 339 and Calvary Baptist Church, Hopewell, NJ. Marvin lived a very simple life enjoying the things he loved most. He loved spending time with his family and friends, traveling when he was able, and working on his "Find A Word" puzzle books. Funeral services will take place 10:30 a.m.
