Deborah W. Ross
YORKTOWN, VA - Deborah W. Ross, 64, died on June 19, 2014. Deborah ('Deb') was a native of New York and former resident of Columbia, SC and Yorktown resident since 2005. She enjoyed a rewarding teaching career with the Richland County Public Schools in Columbia, SC from 1993 through 2003. In more recent years, in pursuit of her true calling, art became her focus. Deb enjoyed creating art from several different media, most recently polymer clay, and several pieces of her work were displayed in local galleries. Deb is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Welch and her husband Scott of Chesapeake; 2 sons, Adam Ross of Boynton Beach, FL, and Nathaniel Ross and his wife Garalyn of North Port, FL; 3 sisters Janice Irwin and her husband Paul of Binghamton, NY, Julie Fletcher and her husband Tim of Nokesville, VA and Ellen Walter of Gloucester; a brother, John P. Walter and his wife Pat of Chesapeake; and 3 grandchildren, Eliana, L.J. and Natalyn. A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, June 25th at Bellamy United Methodist Church, located at 4870 Chestnut Fork Road, Gloucester, VA 23061. A burial service and Celebration of Deb's Life will immediately follow at the same site. Memorials may be made to either World Vision (www.worldvision.org) or Free Wheelchair Mission (www.freewheelchairmission.org), humanitarian organizations which Deb, herself, generously supported. Arrangements by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
